Earth Hour

Yesterday we celebrated earth hour which has became a annual thing. What earth hour is all about is, that for one specific hour you turn off all the electricity and electronics in your house and not to use it for that hour. This is to take a stand against the climate change, to show that you care and want to make a change. This is a important issue for me and I'm glad that I can be a part of a change. So I participated in the earth hour and instead of having lamps on and using electricity I lighted candles. What me and my mom also did was that we took that one hour to be together, away from our smartphones and the social media. Something that we all should also do more often today. In a world where we spend more time on our phones than with our family it's important to take that time to really be together. Because all that matters in the end is family and not the hours spent on Instagram or Facebook.
What makes me happy is that this year there were more participants than ever. Over 170 countries took part. For those who didn't participate this year there is always next year and date is already set. The earth hour 2016 will be on march 19th from 8:30 to 9:30 pm local time. So be there and take a stand.

For those who are interested here's this years campaign. Also if you want to read more you can visit their website. Here's the link to get you there
